Two COVID-19 patients released from hospital

-

Two people who had tested positive for the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, have recovered and have been released from the hospital. These people will have to stay in home quarantine for a week. The director of Health, Cleopatra Jessurun, pointed out that both people had tested negative for COVID-19 before being released from the hospital. Although these people are no longer considered contagious, they will be tested again after a week before they can be deemed fully cured. The director on Thursday pointed out that a third person had also tested negative and that a second test would be carried out within 24 hours. If the result of the second test is also negative, that person will also be moved to home quarantine. After a week the third person will once again be tested. The director explained that the people who have been in home quarantine for 14 days will be pulled out of it according to the exit protocol. “There will be an exit screening and a COVID-19 lab test will be carried out. If the result of the test is negative and if the person is declared healthy after the screening, he or she can leave home quarantine.” International organizations have added the following symptoms to suspected COVID-19 cases namely: itching in the throat, loss of smell and taste, coughing, fatigue and fever. “If you are sick, you must stay home because you could infect others and thereby put the public health at risk.” People who have been in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 or who have been abroad recently are being asked to contact their family doctor or the hotline at 178. They must also remain in home quarantine for at least 14 days from the moment that they came into contact with the infected person.
