Koning wenst moslims voor het eerst via sociale media gelukkig Suikerfeest
DEN HAAG - Koning Willem-Alexander en koningin Máxima hopen dat moslims ondanks de coronacrisis toch een mooie afsluiting van de ramadan kunnen vieren. Het koningspaar wenst iedereen vrijdag op social media een fijn Suikerfeest toe.
“Nu de vastenmaand ramadan ten einde loopt, wensen wij iedereen die zich voorbereidt op de afsluiting daarvan een gelukkig Suikerfeest toe”, schrijft het koppel. “Ook al kunt u niet samenzijn met allen die u lief zijn, toch hopen wij dat het ook dit jaar voor u een feest zal zijn van bezieling en verbinding.”
Ook vorig jaar besteedde de koning aandacht aan de vastenmaand. Toen schoof Willem-Alexander bij een buurthuis in Den Haag aan bij de iftar, de maaltijd die direct na zonsondergang tijdens de ramadan wordt gegeten.
