Police intercept two women from French Guiana
The police on Saturday intercepted two women who had come from neighboring French Guiana. The women were caught in the Wanica District. The police reportedly notified the National Coordination Center for Disaster Control (NCCR). Both women have the Surinamese nationality and had most likely been in French Guiana for a while before returning to Suriname. The woman told the police that they were on their way to Botopasi. It is not clear when they had crossed the river illegally to reach Suriname.
