Man carjacked in Paramaribo

A 30yearold man on Monday night was carjacked by two men in Paramaribo. The carjackers also made off with fifteen hundred Surinamese dollars, a mobile phone and a gold necklace. The victim told the police that he was about to visit an aunt who lives along the Kankantriestraat. After he had exited the vehicle, to criminals who were dressed in black and who had covered their faces with handkerchiefs approached him. One of the robbers was armed with a gun. After the criminals had robbed the victim of his money, mobile phone and gold necklace, they fled the scene in the stolen car.
