Man carjacked in Paramaribo

A 30yearold man on Monday night was carjacked by two men in Paramaribo. The carjackers also made off with fifteen hundred Surinamese dollars, a mobile phone and a gold necklace. The victim told the police that he was about to visit an aunt who lives along the Kankantrie­straat. After he had exited the vehicle, to criminals who were dressed in black and who had covered their faces with handkerchi­efs approached him. One of the robbers was armed with a gun. After the criminals had robbed the victim of his money, mobile phone and gold necklace, they fled the scene in the stolen car.
