Boy, 11, drowns in swimming pool

11-year-old DN on Tuesday afternoon drowned in a swimming pool located in Flora. It is suspected that the boy and other children had gone swimming without permission and that the other children ran away when they realized that DN had drowned.

According to the police report, the drowning took place at a swimming pool located on the premises of a sports facility. “One of the employees spotted DN on the bottom of the swimming alarm before sounding the alarm. Police officers from the Flora Police Station responded to the call and one of the policemen pulled DN out of the water. Attempts that were made to reanimate the boy were unsuccessful.
