RGD also introduces COVID-19 swab spots

-

The Regionale Gezondheidsdienst (RGD) on Thursday introduced COVID-19 swab spots. Throat and nose swabs were taken from people at the RGD clinics located at Geyersvlijt, Latour, Limesgracht, Meerzorg and Moengo. The RGD wants to establish COVID-19 swab spots in all of its jurisdictions. Harriette Neslo, public relations manager at the RGD told Times of Suriname that 11 swab spots will be operational next Monday.

The RGD will take swabs on a daily basis even on Sundays and national holidays from 9 a.m. until noon and from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. The test sites of the Public Health Bureau (BOG) were only operational this week. Neslo explained that people with flu or flu like symptoms must first call the BOG hotline at 178. After being screened the person is then referred to the nearest swab spot. Each person who wants to visit a swab spot of the RGD must wear a surgical mask and show his or her ID card. The RGD urges people who have swabbed to stay home while they wait for their results.
