KLM plane arrives with another batch of medical supplies

-

A plane of the Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) on Friday arrived with another batch of medical supplies. More medical supplies that are being donated by the Dutch government are expected to arrive this week. The medical supplies reportedly consist of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that are intended for people who are fighting COVID19 on the frontline. The medical supplies were gathered by medical specialists who are members of the Su4Su COVID Support Fund. Henna Draaibaar, spokesperson of Su4Su, told Times of Suriname that gloves, surgical masks, suits and glasses have been flown to Suriname. She explained that the first batch of medical supplies has a value if 600,000 euro. Draaibaar pointed out that more supplies are expected to arrive this week. Ten mobile breathing machines, corona test kits and PPE will be flown in from the United States of America.

Draaibaar also pointed out that the Su4Su COVID Support Fund currently has its own distribution network to make sure that all of the nation’s hospitals and institutes can have access to the medical equipment and supplies. The KLM reportedly flew the medical supplies to Suriname at a discount.
