People with disability receive welfare

People with a disability received their welfare of SRD 325 on Thursday. Aniel Koendjbiharie, chairman of stichting Wan Okasi, confirmed that the people with a disability had received their welfare after 10 days. He explained that they did not receive the COVID19 support of SRD 675. The previous administartion had promised them that they would receive the COVID19 support for 6 months. This means that they would receive SRD 1,000 in total for six months. “But they only received one thousand SRDs once. The people were counting in the SRD 1,000 because it is extremely difficult to survive on SRD 325. Some of the people with a disability earn a small salary by doing some work but given the current COVID19 situation they can’t make some money. We hope that the minister of Social Affairs and Housing will make sure that the payments take place on the 20th of every month.”
