Examining magistrate launches investigation in Hausil case
The examining judge on Tuesday launched the judicial investigation in the case against De Faranaaz AlibaksHausil, director Legal Compliance International Affairs at the Central Bank of Suriname. Witnesses have already been questioned. Sources told Times of Suriname that the defense attorneys Murwin Dubois and Raoul Lobo have been given green light to contact and visit the suspect. They had been banned from contacting Hausil after her arrest. AlibaksHausil remains in jail. The Court of Justice last week denied the request for her release. AlibaksHausil
was arrested on several charges including embezzlement, fraud and breaking the anti corruption law.
