Health Ministry warns fake doctors

-

Health Minister Amar Ramadhin recently issued a warning to people who sell and those who use untested medication against COVID-19. All the relevant authorities have been notified of this recent development and have been instructed to take action. The minister responded to reports which indicate that people are promoting several ‘cures’ against COVID-19 and some of these people even call themselves doctors although they have not studied medicine. “They are taking advantage of the situation because we all know that the World Health Organization (WHO) and all the experts in the world have made it clear that there still is no medicine against COVID-19 currently in existence. Everybody is waiting for a vaccine. The people who are conducting these illegal activities will be prosecuted by the authorities to the full extent of the law. I do not know exactly what the penalty against such actions is but all of the known cases have been reported to the authorities and the perpetrators will have to face the consequences,” said Minister Ramadhin who added that “those who deem it necessary can always use vitamins to boost their resistance. Nobody should place specific advertisements about having medicines against COVID-19. People must not create the impression that they can heal others who are sick! There is nothing in Suriname that can cure people who are infected with this virus!”
