Maratakka II up for sale

The Scheepvaart Maatschappij Suriname NV (SMS) has decided to sell the Maratakka II. The sale of the ferry is being organized without the consent of the board of directors at the SMS. Errol Snijders who is a member of the board of directors pointed out that he caught wind of the sale via the media. He made it clear that the executives had to inform the board of directors of their plan first. “The government must take steps against this. It’s unfortunate that the SMS fails to see that the Maratakka II is the only boat that still generates income,” said Snijders who is clearly not happy about the fasct that the boat is being put up for sale.
