App of the week

Fyuse

Available on the App Store and Google Play

When flat 2D photography just doesn’t cut it for you anymore, get Fyuse on your smartphone to make sure you capture the essence of an actual experience in one photo.

By holding the button and panning the camera around, users can freeze the environment — the exact moment in time — that they see and store in a 3D photo. To view the image from different angles, just tilt the device around.

The app works as a sort of mixture of panoramas, gifs and videos — but better. Its interactivity is fun and you can tilt your screen left and right to see the space from a changing point of view. You can also share this piece of spatial photography outside the app. Twitter, Facebook or Instagram — wherever you’re connected, you can show off Fyuse to your friends, or even save the picture into your smart devices in a form of video clips.

Aside from its sharing feature, Fyuse has its own in-app community platform where users can post their own 3D photos, as well as liking and sharing other users’ cool findings. You can explore what users in your area are posting about, open your eyes to various spaces around you, or browse through different categories of popular and trending photos. There’s also a function for you to send and receive messages from fellow users. Connecting with new friends is never easier. And — you never know — you could be roaming the streets with your new-found pals, taking funky Fyuse photos of the world together.
