BEACH PARADISE

-

YIN YOM BEACH

Located on the end of Phra Tamnak Hill between South Pattaya Beach and Jomthien Beach, this little-known beach is the secret heaven for locals and residences. Though it’s full of developments such as hotels and condominiums, the beach still preserves its charms for being quiet and no-frills vibe. There are small range of camp beds for rent and a small shop where you can order made-to-order seafood and Thai dishes. Sunset is always the golden time here. The beach can be easily reached by Phra Tamnak Soi 5.

WONG AMAT BEACH

This quiet beach in Naklua has been seen as an attractive area for investors for several years. These days it is home to shiny new condominiums, hotels and restaurants. The beach is public but cared for by properties in the area, so the water is clean and okay to swim in.

NORTH PATTAYA AND CENTRAL PATTAYA

The rst part of the beach that welcomes visitors to Pattaya is home to hi-end hotels and has a relatively calm vibe, especially compared to the southern end. Nevertheless, North Pattaya offers lots of beach activities such as jet skiing and parasailing. It is also home to Art in Paradise and the famous Tiffany and Alcaza shows.

JOMTIEN BEACH

Separated from the main Pattaya Bay, Jomtien Beach is located in the southern part of Pattaya and commands some six kilometres of beach. It remains quieter than Pattaya but is increasingly developed and offers accommodations for every pocket. Families favour it as it is calmer than its raucous neighbour while still offering all kinds of beach fun. It is also home to various watersport tournaments such as the annual Jet Ski World Cup Grand Prix.

SOUTHERN PATTAYA

The lowest stretch of Pattaya Bay, at South Pattaya, is a dense commercial area packed with malls, shops and entertainment venues, including the infamous Walking Street, and special attractions, notably at Royal Garden Plaza where Ripley’s Believe It or Not is housed.

NA JOMTIEN BEACH

Head further south beyond Jomtien and you come to Na Jomtien, an idyllic beach for those looking for a quieter life. Stretching six kilometres from north to south, Na Jomtien is also a haven for water sports fans, especially windsur ng. But the developers are moving in and there are lots of opportunities to acquire a seaside home, perhaps one with its own marina in which to park your yacht. Around the area, known as Ban Amphoe, are plenty of good places to eat, not least of which is the famous shermen’s village with its excellent seafood market.
