Income inequality in Singapore was the lowest in a decade, while monthly household income grew but at slower rate, according to government data released last week. The Gini coefficient, which measures income inequality and assigns lower scores to more equal societies, went down from 0.463 in 2015 to 0.458 last year. It was Singapore’s lowest score in 10 years. The median monthly income for employed households grew from S$8,666 in 2015 to S$8,846 in 2016, the Department of Statistics reported.
