Plan B to maintain OOH lead with new developments

SET-listed Plan B Media Plc expects to outperform the overall media industry and secure its leadership among out-of-home (OOH) media providers this year.

The company believes its diversified media network will better respond to marketing requirements from brands and service operators.

“We expect to continue having an impressive business performance this year and outperform the overall media industry,” said managing director Pinijsorn Luechaikajohnpan.

Plan B plans to enhance its revenue-generating capability and media space utilisation rate. Last year, its media space capacity generated 767 million baht in revenue.

The company will continue to serve as an agency to manage commercial rights for the Football Association of Thailand and Premier League Thailand Co.

It will introduce newly-developed media to the market and make sure that advertisers realise its advertising effectiveness, value-for-money and the measurable performance of its media outlets.

Plan B will extend its OOH media coverage to gain a national footprint to support urbanisation in provinces across Thailand.

It will increase media space in airports and focus more on using innovations to develop ads to attract travellers while adding value to its media outlet.

Its airport media service is being offered at 34 airports nationwide.

“We plan to expand our OOH media business into other Asean countries with our successful business model and by finding partners who have experience in each market,” Mr Pinijsorn said.

Last year, Plan B recorded 2.42 billion baht in total revenue, up 12.5% from 2015, and the growth came from the media capacity expansion that enhanced revenue for all key media outlets.

While the entire media industry was hindered by the entertainment ban on all media outlets for 30 days after His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away on Oct 13, Plan B’s revenue growth was still maintained.

Its revenue from digital media was recorded at 1.04 billion baht, increasing 3.3% from 2015, while revenue from transit media slightly dropped by 5.4% to 482.6 million baht in 2016.

Plan B shares closed yesterday on the Stock Exchange of Thailand at 6.10 baht, unchanged, in trade worth 32.8 million baht.
