JW Marriott Bangkok (02-656-7700) February: Bangkok Baking Company presents a selection of special BBQ items such as Thai curry and coconut-marinated ribs; cumin and coriander-rubbed baby back ribs; Jack Daniels baby back ribs; and maple-glazed pineapple and five spices ribs. Dishes are priced at 499 baht each and accompanie­d by Asian fusion coleslaw and sweet tangy BBQ corn.

Landmark Bangkok (02-254-0404) February: Rib Room & Bar Steakhouse recommends Entrecôte Lyonnaise, a sublime steak prepared by French chef in Lyonnaise style. Featured is 270-day, Australian grain-fed beef (choices include rib-eye, tenderloin and sirloin) served with sautéed onion and potatoes.

Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit (02-204-4000) February: From Sunday to Thursday, Atelier restaurant presents a mostly seafood buffet dinner at 1,199 baht per person, including free-flow soft drinks.

Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit (02-649-8365) February: Basil Thai restaurant features a new collection of set menus, featuring authentic flavours of Thailand’s four distinct regions. Expect to find the likes of spicy herbal pork sausage from the North, sweet and sour papaya salad with grilled chicken from the Northeast, roasted duck in red curry with apple and basil from the Central Plains and spicy snapper soup with turmeric and herbs from the South. Prices start at 1,600 baht per person.

Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit (02-126-9999) February: From Sunday to Thursday, Voila internatio­nal restaurant features a prime selection of fresh imported seafood in its dinner buffet line. Price for the buffet is 799 baht net per person for food only.

Westin Grande Sukhumvit (02-207-8032) February-March: Wild-caught blue fin tuna and Hokkaido oyster are seasonal highlights at Kisso Japanese restaurant. Menu options include fatty tuna belly steak with garlic soy sauce; sashimi rice bowl with fresh sea urchin and salmon roe; Hokkaido oyster tempura rolled with oba leaf and nori seaweed; and deep-fried Hokkaido oyster with Japanese tartare sauce.

RAMA IV — SILOM — SURAWONG — CHAROEN KRUNG

Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park (02-6329000 ) February: Panorama restaurant reintroduc­es its “Spectacula­r Sunday Brunch”. The brunchtime buffet features cuisines from around the world boasting a variety of prime seafood, premium-quality meat, authentic Cantonese dim sum, Japanese sashimi and a wide selection of desserts. Price is 2,099 baht per person.

Dusit Thani Bangkok (02-200-9000) February: Thien Duong Vietnamese restaurant features fresh spring rolls. Featured items such as mixed fruit spring rolls with avocado sauce; fresh spring rolls with crispy catfish; and deep-fried spring rolls with duck breast. Prices start from 330 baht per dish. Benjarong Thai restaurant features dishes prepared with osso buco beef, including hanglay curry with slow-cooked osso buco with cinnamon-flavoured mashed purple potato; and osso buco with black pepper sauce. Price is 760 baht per dish.

Pullman Bangkok Hotel G (02-352-4000) February-March: Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant features dishes prepared with imported produce from France’s renowned Mouneyrec Brothers fruit merchants. Menu highlights include poached lobster with Granny Smith apple and celeriac remoulade; pan-seared foie gras with poached Passe Crassane pear in red wine; carpaccio sea bream with Royal Gala apple jelly and tartar; pork tenderloin with caramelise­d Belchard apple, Calvados and almond crumble; duck breast with pan-seared Conference pear, honey and Sichuan pepper; and snow fish with Comice pear scales and a salted butter purée.

Royal Orchid Sheraton (02-266-9214) February-March: Thara Thong presents a “curry and spice” dinner set menu at 550 baht per set. Highlighte­d dishes are BBQ pork curry with cha plu leaves, deep-fried fillet snapper with sweet and sour chilli sauce, deep-fried prawns with black pepper sauce, and spicy chicken in Southern style curry. Giorgio’s Italian restaurant recommends pizza combo sets. The small set, priced at 499 baht, consists of a pizza and two choices of appetisers. The party set, priced 799 baht, consists of two pizza and four appetisers.

Shangri-La Bangkok (02-236-7777) February: Volti Italian restaurant and bar features giant thin-crust pizzas from a wood-fire pizza oven. Choice of toppings includes Fruitti di Mare, East meets West and a gourmet combinatio­n of BBQ chicken, foie gras, mushrooms, prosciutto ham and Mozzarella cheese. The Lobby Lounge introduces a new afternoon tea set, featuring premium savoury bites, including Rougie foie gras, Nova Scotia lump king crab on pink brioche and Tasmania Bay scallops with micro-green honey mustard bacon chips, as well as meticulous­ly crafted desserts and scones with a wide range of speciality teas by Dilmah. Priced at 1,198 baht for a two-person set.

So Sofitel Bangkok (02-624-0000) February: Every Saturday, Red Oven restaurant features the “Drunk ’N’ Brunch” dining theme combining creative drinks with buffet cuisine amid live DJ music. Prices start from 1,950 baht per person.

SATHON — WITTHAYU

Eastin Grand Sathorn Bangkok (02-210-8100) February: Luce Italian restaurant features dishes prepared with fresh oceanic harvests. Menu options such as barbecued red mullet with Acciughe anchovy crust and baby root vegetables; slow-simmered aqua pazza grouper fillet; Carnaroli San Massimo sea bass risotto with cauliflowe­r, green peas and crispy fish skin; and Dover sole with Parma ham and Hokkaido scallops with capsicum sauce and baked cherry tomatoes.

Hotel Indigo Bangkok (02-207-4999) February: Metro on Wireless cafe features a barbecue and grill set dinner every Thursday and Friday. Featured items are mixed grilled seafood, rib-eye steak and roasted lamb. Prices range from 650-1,500 baht and are inclusive of all-you-caneat salad and desserts.

Okura Prestige Bangkok (02-687-9000) February: Elements features a seasonal menu prepared with black truffle. Recommende­d dishes are roasted guinea fowl breast with endive, edamame and black truffles; braised beef cheeks and wagyu tongue with carrots, turnips, soy beans and black truffles; Brie de Meaux layered with black truffles; and white asparagus ice cream with fresh herbs, dashi jelly and black truffles. Until March 5, Yamazato Japanese restaurant presents special menus to celebrate Japan’s annual Hinamatsur­i Girls’ festival. Dishes include three-coloured sesame tofu with sea snail, broad beans and white asparagus; sashimi of tuna, ark shell and sakura sea bream; and scallops with eggplant and sakura shrimp.

Plaza Athenee Bangkok (02-650-8800) Until March 18: The Reflexions features an à la carte menu prepared with black winter truffle such as roasted scallops with cauliflowe­r, raisins, raw almonds and truffle vinaigrett­e; potato soup with black truffle, chive, poached quail egg, ravioli beef stew and duck liver; and wagyu strip loin with onion, bone marrow, beef cheek, endive and red wine sauce.

U Sathorn Bangkok (02-119-4804) February: J’aime contempora­ry French restaurant presents new menu combining tropical vegetables, herbs and spices with world-class ingredient­s. Featured dishes include beef tartare with Mediterran­ean vegetables, herbs and marinated lemon; Brittany sardine terrine with marinated cucumber and miso gelée; heart of cod served with Yanagi Matsutake mushrooms, sea snails and pea hummus; pan-seared Kamui beef fillet served with porcini and walnut purée and olivescent­ed whole-grain mustard; grilled duck foie gras with endives, sweetcorn and grapefruit and smoked tea consommé. A set of tasting menu is priced at 2,399 baht net for five courses, 3,399 baht net for seven courses or 4,199 baht net for 10 courses.

W Bangkok (02-344 4210) February: Every Sunday, the Kitchen Table presents new selection of afternoon tea crêpes set. Served with a choice of coffee or tea, options of crepes include savoury crepe with black forest ham with mushroom, fried egg, rocket and hollandais­e; fajita crêpes with beef, onion, bell peppers, sour cream, guacamole, salsa and cheese sauce; crab and shrimp salad with sour cream, lemon and Parmesan garlic crumbs; as

well as vegetarian choices. The sweet side of the menu are crepes with berry compote, lemon curd, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, apple toffee, dried coconut and candyfloss. The set is priced at 450 baht person.

RATCHADAMR­I — RATCHAPRAS­ONG — RAMA I

Anantara Siam (02-126-8866) February: Biscotti Italian restaurant presents “Carnival de Venice” featuring exquisite Venetian ingredient­s. Choose from à la carte menu or specially-created tasting menu. The multi-course degustatio­n menu is priced at 2,400 baht per person. Featured dishes are yellowfin tuna carpaccio with a green apple sauce and homemade fettuccine with duck ragout.

Spice Market recommends dishes prepared with prime Andaman seafood. Featured options are marinated mussels with red curry and coconut milk and steamed egged crab with vegetables and a spicy dip.

Centara Grand at CentralWor­ld (02-100-6255) February: Red Sky restaurant presents a Spring-inspired menu featuring chilled medallions of lobster with sea urchin panna cotta and caviar; purée of roasted parsnip soup with smoked goose, San Danielle prosciutto and beets; and honey-roasted French barbarie duck breast and French Bigorre pork chops with roasted apples, garlic smashed potatoes and charcuteri­e sauce. Every Saturday night, Uno Mas features Torta del Cassar fondue made with sheep cheese from Spain’s Extremadur­a region at 1,620 baht per person.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok (02-254-6250) February: Every Sunday, Tables Grill restaurant features a Champagne brunch with unlimited Louis Roederer Brut Premierto complement­ed by a wide variety of classic buffet items and à la carte options including chilled seafood, oyster bar, Boston lobster thermidor, pan-fried duck liver, sautéed sea bass à la Meunière and homemade pasta gratin. Price is 3,999 baht per person.

Renaissanc­e Bangkok Ratchapras­ong

(02-125-5010) February: La Tavola and Wine Bar recommends dishes prepared with Italian cheese such as grilled wagyu striploin with Parmigiano reggiano mash and truffle sauce; and sun dried tomato risotto with stracciate­lla cheese and green beans.

Siam Kempinski Bangkok (02-162-9000) February: Brasserie Europa features English butcher BBQ items in its Friday internatio­nal buffet dinner. Selections range from prime meats and shellfish to be prepared à la minute. The English-styled dishes are offered among regular American, Australian and Argentinia­n prime cuts as well as a selection of chilled seafood. The Friday buffet dinner is priced at 2,200 baht per person including free-flow non-alcoholic beverages.

LANG SUAN — PHLOEN CHIT — RUAMRUDEE

InterConti­nental Bangkok (02-656-0444) February: Peking duck is the featured menu item at Summer Palace Cantonese restaurant. After a platter of crispy skin, the meat can be prepared either to a Thai or Hong Kong recipe including deep-fried with garlic pepper sauce, wok-fried with black pepper sauce and onion, and sautéed with ginger and spring onion Cantonese style. The duck is priced at 1,390 baht each.

Muse Bangkok (02-630-4000) February: Babette’s the Steakhouse introduces new Surf ’n’ Turf menu. Featured dishes include Australian beef tenderloin with pan-seared Hokkaido scallops, crispy pancetta and green asparagus; roasted pork fillet and grilled black tiger prawns with potato chips, spring onions creamy garlic sauce; slow-cooked crispy pork belly with Alaskan king crab legs, braised bok choy and pepperonat­a salsa; grilled striploin steak with Canadian lobster and clarified butter; and pancetta-wrapped monkfish served on saffron risotto with caviar and squid ink foam. Prices start from 800 baht per dish.

PHAYA THAI

Pullman Bangkok King Power (02-680-9999) February: Wine Pub features dishes prepared with imported New Zealand lamb. Menu options are lamb shank with mashed potatoes and vegetables; braised lamb shank tagine with plums; Milanese-style lamb shank; Burgundy-style lamb shank in red wine sauce; and lamb shank with truffle sauce. Prices start from 800 baht net per dish.

Vie Hotel Bangkok (02-309-3939) February-March: La Vie Creative French Cuisine presents a three-course set menu with poulard de Bresse, considered one of the best chickens in the world, as the highlight. The set, priced at 1,200 baht net per person, includes Bresse chicken two ways with Perigord truffle, caramelise­d onion and winter medley; cream of Jerusalem artichoke soup with thyme essence; and chocolate parfait with chestnut, blackcurra­nt and pear sorbet.

RATCHADAPH­ISEK — VIBHAVADI

Centara Grand at CentralPla­za Lardprao (02-541-1234) Until Feb 25; US scallops are a featured ingredient at the Dynasty Chinese restaurant. Recommende­d menus are stir-fried scallops with black pepper or XO sauce; and steamed scallops with noodles and Chinese herbs. Until Feb 27, Blue Sky Bar & Dining features special “Land And See” menu featuring distinctiv­e French cheese by Pyrenese cheese master Dominique Bouchait. Dishes include ravioli of Napoleon-Bernard Leprince; Mignon cheese with honey, pear and rosemary; Potimarron soup with Régalis-MontRoyal cheese makers.

Swissôtel Le Concorde (02-694-2222) February-March: Loong Foong Chinese restaurant features dishes prepared with conch. Menu options are braised conch with aromatic Chinese herbs and spices; stir-fired conch with sugar pea; poached sliced sea conch with soya sauce; and deep-fired conch with spicy salt. Price is 680 baht per dish. Every Saturday and Sunday, 204 Bistro features brunch buffet with featured dishes such as fried noodle with Alaskan king crab and brown gravy, Canadian Lobster and US scallop platter and pan-fried foie gras, raclette cheese station. Price is 1,290 baht per person, including a glass of sparkling wine and free-flow soft drinks.

BANG NA

Le Meridien Suvarnabhu­mi (02-118-7777) February: Favola Italian restaurant features various dishes prepared with fresh seafood from Calabria. Recommende­d menu items include alici imbottiti, or a deep-fried stuffed sardine with garlic oregano and cheese, and ravioli di stoccu, or homemade ravioli filled with stock fish. Prices start from 420 baht per dish.

BEYOND BANGKOK

Centara Grand Beach and Villas Hua Hin (032-512-021) February: Every Monday, Hagi Japanese restaurant presents “Culinary Treasures Of Japan” buffet at 1,300 baht per person. The dinner buffet features a wide variety of sushi and sashimi, teppanyaki grills and more.

Centara Grand Mirage Beach Pattaya

(038-714-981) February: Acqua presents dishes prepared with Italian poultry. Featured menu items include guinea flow breast with porcini risotto; panroasted baby chicken on rosemary potato and red grape, port wine sauce; and pan-roasted tender duck breast served on top of grilled polenta. Oasis restaurant recommends a variety of traditiona­l Japanese ramen noodle soup at 300 baht per dish. Featured items are shoyu ramen, tantan ramen and wonton ramen.

Dhara Dhevi Chiang Mai (053-888-888) February: Le Grand Lanna restaurant features dishes prepared with pon yang kham, one of Thailand’s best locally-bred beef renowned for its delicate marbling. Options include beef steak with spicy chilli dip and sautéed vegetables; and wok-fried hot and spicy beef with basil and green peppercorn­s. Meanwhile, Farang Ses French restaurant introduces new degustatio­n menu that’s priced at 1,800 baht per person. The menu features classic beef pot-au-feu, baked escargot, smoked duck breast, and a terrine of spiced chocolate topped with dollops of orange sherbet and passion fruit marshmallo­w.

Dusit Thani Pattaya (038-425-611) February: The Bay Grill & Buffet features a seafood and meat barbecue along with Thai and internatio­nal fare for dinner. Price is 1,053 baht per person for food only. Free-flow drinks costs an extra 700 baht net per person.
