1 This upcoming Friday will see the release of the Nintendo Switch, the Japanese gaming titan’s first console since the under-performing Wii U which was released in 2012. Touted as a hybrid between traditional home consoles and the handhelds Nintendo has long been known for, the Switch will feature a detachable screen that can be carried around for gaming on the go, as well as an HDMI-connected dock that will allow games to be played on a regular TV. The exact prices in Thai baht have yet to be announced, though the console will retail in the US at $300 (approximately 10,000 baht). 2 The Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand welcomes you to a special screening of the documentary

Tsukiji Wonderland. With over 70 years of history, the Tsukiji Fish Market has long been a landmark of Japan’s capital city, being one of the largest markets that supply fresh fish to the numerous sushi restaurants all around Tokyo. The iconic market’s future is currently uncertain, however, as the Japanese government has expressed a desire to re-purpose the inner-Tokyo area currently occupied by the market. The screening will begin at 7pm on Monday at the club’s venue near BTS Chidlom. Members of the FCCT can view for free, while non-members will have to pay 150 baht per seat. 3 Starting today until June 25, the MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum — located in Chiang Mai — will be showcasing their latest exhibition, titled Mon Art Du Style. The exhibition, which will feature various pieces of clothing alongside works of art both new and old, means to highlight the thematic relationship between fashion and art to convey a philosophical sense of “style”. Tickets cost 150 baht for adults and 100 baht for children/students and the elderly. The museum is also closed on Tuesdays, so keep that in mind when making your travel plans. 4 Support the Thai indie-music scene at the Deep Space Ep 2: Dream & Wake concert, taking place at the Jam Cafe Bangkok this upcoming Friday. The concert will feature performances from three different indie-artists, including MJTD, SØAR FLiT and Old Fashioned Kid. Tickets cost 200 baht, and can only be procured by wire transfer to the Jam Cafe Bangkok’s account. Tickets to the event cost 800 baht, though you can get them for a discounted price of 450 baht if you buy them online at socialgiver.com. Aside from 100 beers, whiskey and rum, the event will also feature activities such as a surf and graffiti show, as well as game booths for beer-pong or foosball. If you’re looking to party this weekend anyway, might as well do it for charity!
