LEARN ABOUT KING TAKSIN (Seacon Bangkae, Phetkasem

Road, 11am-8pm, until tomorrow) Set in the atmosphere of the Ayutthaya and Thon Buri eras, the “King Taksin: The Great Liberator Of Thailand” event tells stories of the king’s battle to regain Siam’s independen­ce in light, colour and sound effects. Besides witnessing the old-fashioned way of life along the banks of Thon Buri and worshippin­g King Taksin the Great’s statue, visitors can sample traditiona­l Thai dishes. March 12) The 12th “Paed Rew Mango Festival” will feature many species of mangoes from 100 vendors from Paed Rew of Rayong province. They include nam dokmai, khiew savoey, golden ok

COMMUNITYA­RT FAIR (The Jam Factory, Charoen Nakhon Road,

4pm-10pm, until tomorrow) The second “Art Ground” fair features artwork by 14 famous artists including Lolay, Pom Chan, Pod Thanachai, Jeep Pasinee and Tod Arak. Also being offered is an alternativ­e photograph­y workshop conducted by an English photograph­er, live music by indie acts, food shops and food trucks from The Knack Market, and sales of all kinds of art books at special prices. ALL ABOUT ORCHIDS (The Promenade, Ram Intra Road, 11am

8pm, until March 12) Held under the theme “89 Species In 89 Years Under The Reign Of King Rama IX”, the “Blooming Orchid 2017” fair features a selection of orchids named after members of the Royal Family, orchids whose names are granted by the Royal Family, rare and exotic orchids, and an orchid contest featuring 50 sets of 12 beautiful species. Orchid tools and accessorie­s are available at special prices and 1,000 plants are given away to those who spend 1,500 baht at the shopping centre on the weekends.
