New gadget offers skincare suggestions
Instead of several bottles and jars occupying the vanity table, a single beauty gadget can pump out serums and creams for a personalised skincare routine. Responding to the modern lifestyle, the ageLOC ME system is Thailand’s first digital customised anti-ageing skincare product, according to Vipada Tangpakorn, Nu Skin’s general manager.
“Users can select the concentration of the serum, level of sunscreen protection and even fragrance, with the customisation resulting in more than 2,000 skincare combinations,” Vipada said. A mobile application can be downloaded on smart devices. The online skin assessment tool asks about factors influencing the way you age, such as skin type, environment and climate. Answers are assessed by Nu Skin experts, who recommend a customised ageLOC Me package that can then be ordered from a smartphone.
The system includes cartridges of serums plus day and night moisturisers. Depending on the skin assessment, the serums may target wrinkles, oversized pores and uneven skin tone whereas the day and night formulas complement each other in providing hydration and improving cellular turnover.
“We collaborated with global partners in anti-ageing research and innovative product design in order to develop the ageLOC Me system that aims to replace traditional skincare products,” said Vipada. “With an attractive design and smart technology, the beauty gadget allows users to adjust settings, such as the amount of serum dispensed each time. In addition, it will give a warning notification when running out of the skincare products, so that users can order the customised refill set in advance.”
Nu Skin invested over 1.3 billion baht in research and development of the ageLOC innovation. The airless cartridges offer hygienic dispensing as the device automatically senses your hand and delivers a precise dose of the serum and moisturisers.
The technology however comes with a price, with the standard smart skincare system costing 21,400 baht.
