The award-winning Dutch piano duo of young brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen will join Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra during “The Brothers Jussen, Pianos” concert at the main hall of Thailand Cultural Centre, Ratchadaphisek Road, this Friday at 8pm.

For their Bangkok debut, they will perform Mozart’s Concerto No.10 For Two Pianos In E Flat Major K365 known especially for its instantly memorable finale E-flat major Rondo theme.

Set to direct the orchestra in a performance of The Marriage Of Figaro Overture will be German-Dutch conductor Arjan Tien, professor of orchestral conducting at the Maastricht Conservatoire. The orchestra will also perform Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No.1 In C Minor Op 68, a titan of the Romantic repertoire.

Born in 1993 and 1996 respectively, Lucas and Arthur made a considerable impact nationally when they were only eight-years-old. In 2001, Lucas reached the final of the Rotterdam Piano Festival, while in 2004 Arthur was chosen as “Young Musical Talent Of The Year” at the National Contest of Young Musical Talent. They have performed with most Dutch orchestras, receiving numerous plaudits along the way. In 2014, the brothers accompanied King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima on their official visit to Poland. The duo have so far released four CDs. Tickets cost 500, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major (visit www.thaiticketmajor.com or call 02-262-3456).
