I BEG YOUR PARDEN
ASIDE FROM THE BAD PUN, THERE’S NOTHING I’M SORRY ABOUT IN FINDING THIS PARFAIT PARLOR.
If you weren’t sold on the two magic words parfait parlor, I don’t know what your stomach is made of because mine was ready at the doors two minutes before its opening hours.
On my recent discovery of this gem hiding on the second floor of the same building as Bankara Ramen, I ordered the Strawberry parfait (B280), comprised of strawberry jelly, strawberry flavoured granita and vanilla ice cream topped with lots of fresh strawberries picked from Chiang Mai. These bright red babies were super fresh and sweet — the best strawberries I’ve ever had in Thailand. Just think of this parfait like a healthier version of your typical sundae but just as scrumptious. The contrasting textures of the silkysmooth ice cream and the crunchy granita as well as the balanced flavours of sweet and tart were just the right amount of indulgence one needs after a meal.
Now I know that sharing is caring, but I really wasn’t going to offer anyone else a bite of this divine dessert. This parfait was made for one. ME. And I finished it like a champ.
Parden also serves up cafe-style snacks li ke Prosciutto and mozzarella cheese paninis and other sweet treats like Mango cheesecake. Its menu changes daily but you’re bound to find something tasty there every time you visit.
Shoppers, you should keep an eye out as Parden acts not only as a cafe but also a zakka shop that sells a bunch of super cute knickknacks you can pick up for very reasonable prices.
