TAME YOUR MANE
Not overlooking how tresses as much as skin is exposed to pollution, scalp and hair require purification whether through a daily routine or an intensive salon treatment.
Under French cosmetics giant L’Oreal, Kerastase designed a detox session and reformulated its Specifique range to tackle scalp-related issues such as sensitivity, dandruff, hair loss and oily roots.
Pollution particles are believed to be a leading cause of the scalp sensitivity, which can also
be triggered by stress and hormonal or dietary disruptions.
Involving three steps, Kerastase salon treatment firstly aims to lift impurities from the scalp surface through a clay mask containing kaolin that unclogs pores and absorbs oil and sweat. This anti-pollution cleansing additionally spurs a cooling sensation in stimulating scalp metabolism.
The clean scalp then is ready for a soothing massage with gel-cream Masque Hydra-Apaisant purposely developed for the ritual, which leaves hair supple and moisturised.
The final step involves a microniser gently airbrushing the scalp and delivering micronised particles 170 times smaller than a single drop, resulting in a thin and homogenous surface deposition of an intensive serum that addresses specific scalp concerns.
The highly-concentrated serums, referred to as cures, feature scalpceutical molecules and an AOX Complex (L-Carnosine, vitamin E and moringa extract) against oxidative damage.
Cure Apaisante, for instance, targets scalp discomfort while Cure Anti-Chute restores the scalp’s capacity to anchor strands at the root in order to control hair loss.
Available at leading salons carrying Kerastase Specifique range, the detoxification and revitalisation treatment costs 2,000-3,000 baht depending on hair length. Daily care is as important and a personalised at-home programme will be recommended to maintain hair in a good condition.
