12 Ugandans on prostitution rap

-

PATTAYA: Twelve Ugandan women were arrested yesterday on suspicion of illegally selling sex in this major tourist destination.

They were apprehended by immigration police along with officers of a special operations unit attached to the local police.

According to police, the women posed as tourists plying their trade on Pattaya’s Walking Street, one of the busiest tourist spots in the popular seaside resort town, causing annoyance to passers-by.

They were taken to the Pattaya police station and fined for roaming around and soliciting. Complaints were made with the police by foreign and local tourists that the women were trying to persuade them to sleep with them.
