PAINTING THE DANCE FLOOR

- — Kanokporn Chanasongkram

Having celebrated its 10th anniversary, Life In Color (LIC) has proven how it can pull in a big crowd ready to make themselves a canvas for mind-blowing paint splashing.

As a stop of its 2017 X World Tour, the world’s largest paint party will come to Bangkok for the first time this Saturday at Centerpoint Studio.

The performance is open to those above the age of 18 seeking for the messy “X-perience”, which originated from an American college campus paint party that over a decade has grown into a travelling dance-music festival.

The X Tour celebrates the success of the entertainment series based on its “Life is better experienced in colour!” concept.

The paint is said to be non-toxic so revellers have no need to worry about being contaminated with a rainbow of colours. LIC’s futuristic playground, the organisers say, will make you feel like a kid again.

Additionally, the stress-busting paint therapy allows one to let go in the celebrative ambience that espouses a sense of community among music lovers.

LIC Bangkok promises a state-of-the art production. The blast of paint is accompanied by upbeat music from artists, who have never performed in Thailand before — this providing a new enthralling experience of Electronic Dance Music (EDM).

Of various genres, headliners include Party Thieves, Andrew Rayel, Bassjackers, Technoboy, Bonnie x Clyde, Wasted Penguinz and Ape Drums.

EDM trap artist, Jared McFarlin aka Party Thieves, made a name for himself with his uplifting remixes and originals while his quirky personality and big heart make for an entertaining act.

Contributing to the constantly-growing trance scene, Andrew Rayel has given it some refreshing sounds while producer and vocalist duo Bonnie X Clyde has released a series of hits featuring their signature “Vocal Bass” style.

Another duo, DJ Marlon Flohr and producer Ralph van Hilst, with their opposing personalities, make up Bassjackers, whose Dutch electronic music will get everybody exuberantly moving on the dance floor at Centerpoint Studio.

“Life In Color Bangkok” is on Saturday, 5pm at Centerpoint Studio, Soi Lasalle (Sukhumvit 105). Visit lifeincolor.com and ticketmelon.com.
