Important summit looks to country’s future
The CSR Asia Summit will return to Bangkok to address pressing challenges and emerging trends, and to explore sustainability opportunities and other important regional issues, at Amari Watergate Hotel, Phetchaburi Road, on Sept 26 and 27, starting at 9am.
Held under the theme “Future Proofing Sustainable Business”, the annual conference on corporate social responsibility, held at a different Asian location each year, will combine a packed programme of speakers with 22 individual sessions focused on current and emerging issues, all of them strongly impacting Thailand right now.
Topics include future-proofing the Thai way, human trafficking, human rights, gender rights and children’s rights.
They will be addressed by around 80 subject experts, academics, business leaders and regional influencers.
The two-day event will also present a stream of supply-chain and human-rights workshops and interactive sessions.
Liberty Asia and Cargill will take a hands-on approach to undertaking human rights due diligence. Adidas and Thai Union will actively explore how companies are addressing the challenge of human trafficking and the multi-stakeholder efforts to collectively achieve this.
Care will bring in programme partners to launch its regional work strategy “Made By Women”, which will scale the impact of programmes such as “Sexual Harassment Stops Here” to benefit 8 million women garment workers in Asia by 2021.
Dtac, RSPO and Unicef will join the Global Child Forum to talk about how we ensure that children’s rights are respected when conducting business, and what companies can do to integrate children’s rights into their operations.
The refugee crisis will be the central component of a workshop touch on how refugees can play a part in enabling companies to meet labour shortages while also generating local economic growth.
