Ibrix partners with Chinese firm in sign of the times
Ibrix, the organiser of Sign Asia Expo: Bangkok LED & Digital Sign 2017-APPPEXPO Thailand, has teamed up with a Chinese partner to strengthen sign-advertising trade shows, reaffirming Thailand’s readiness to be the digital signage hub of Asean.
Sakkachat Sivabovorn, chief executive of Ibrix, said the collaboration with Chinabased Shanghai Modern International Exhibition Co, which is Shanghai’s largest sign and the ad trade show organiser of APPPEXPO in China, will enable the company to stay adaptive to other global out-of-home media technologies that are developed relentlessly.
“To accelerate Thailand’s potential to host international sign and ad business trade shows, the exhibition Sign Asia Expo will help promote Thailand as a digital signage hub of Asean,” said Mr Sakkachat. “The show hopes to improve innovation and technology in the segment, in line with the government’s Thailand 4.0 policy.”
He said the theme of this year’s exhibition is “China Sign Silk Road”, focusing on sign businesses and technologies from China for the first time. The show takes place Nov 9-12 at Impact Muang Thong Thani.
“The importance of advertising technology means Thai businesses should not limit themselves to the domestic market. It is time to show Thailand’s potential and readiness to be the Asean leader in signs, digital signs, LED and out-of-home media markets,” said Mr Sakkachat.
The exhibition offers a networking platform for industrial operators as well as seminars and workshops to develop the potential of the sign and advertising business workforce.
He said these activities are expected to generate opportunities for business deals, revenue and networking. Informative workshops are planned at the exhibition to train interested people in selecting materials and problem-solving techniques for each type of sign.
This year Ibrix will focus on seminars and workshops covering computer numerical control (CNC) innovation for various materials. CNC is used in manufacturing to help computers control machine tools, and CNC innovative technology helps generate income from existing sign materials by utilising creativity.
A mini-exhibition and sign contest for creative inkjet printing will be held by the Thai Advertising Business Development Association (Tabda) under the theme “Klaw Kao Kaw: Number 9 Sign Contest”.
Ibrix expects to generate 30 million baht in full-year revenue in 2017, up 10 million from last year thanks to the improving economy.
During the four-day Sign Asia Expo, visitors can meet with manufacturers and distributors of indoor and outdoor LED signs.
