Liszt recital at Sala Sudasiri Sobha
World renowned Italian pianist Giuseppe Albanese will give a piano recital at Sala Sudasiri Sobha concert hall, Lat Phrao 41, this Sunday at 4pm.
Presented by the Embassy of Italy, this is the first time a Bangkok audience will be musically treated with a delightful programme featuring a picturesque description of Europe through the music of Hungarian piano virtuoso and composer Franz Liszt as interpreted by Albanese.
The repertoire includes San Francesco Di Paola Che Cammina Sulle Onde, Au Bord D’une Source, Après Une Lecture De Dante: Fantasia Quasi Sonata and Les Jeux D’eaux A La Villa D’Este. The last three pieces are from Liszt’s set of three suites for solo piano, Années De Pèlerinage.
Also on the evening programme will be Rhapsodie Espagnole, Danse Des Sylphes, Isoldens Liebestod and Réminiscences De Norma.
The 38-year-old musician is hailed as one of the most popular pianists of his generation who portrays his great understanding of Liszt through his musical readings. His performances have offered his deeper thoughts to the music he presents.
He has had an active performance schedule in many of the world’s most renowned concert halls. In 2014, he made his Deutsche Grammophon label debut and, a year later, he released his second DG Album, Après Une Lecture De Liszt, dedicated to the Hungarian composer entirely. Currently, he is a piano professor at the Conservatorio Tartini in Trieste, Italy.
There is no admission fee to the concert but donations are welcome to support the Gift of Life Foundation to help blood disease patients in Thailand.
