Thailand Creative and Design Center (TCDC)

-

Between Charoen Krung Soi 32 and 34 Previously located at the Emporium, the TCDC has now established its new home at the Grand Postal Building on Charoen Krung Road. The five-storey centre has an area open to the public as well as an area for members only. The public area includes a café with ample working space and a rooftop garden available for events. If you’re a member, however, you’re in for a lot more perks. First off, you have access to a members-only rooftop space, meeting rooms for up to 20 people, a refreshing area for drinks and a recreational area with a foosball table. A resource centre with high ceilings is one of the many places you can work in. You won’t even need to bring your own laptop as Mac desktops are provided. FabCafe Bangkok manages the Maker Space that has tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters and a prototyping machine that will help bring your ideas to life. The Material and Design Innovation Center provides resources of local materials as references for those studying design, fashion and architecture, along with an in-house consultant for free. There is also an art gallery, open to the public as well, that has a three-month rotation. The current exhibition is dedicated to Thai architecture, specifically the construction of the royal crematorium and other sites during the late king’s cremation ceremonies. TCDC has all these resources and if you become a member, they will be right at your arm’s length.
