Cute cats will be roaming the

Held in collaboration with the Thailand Cat Club, the expo will see a cat contest featuring both purebred Thai cats and mixed-breed cats in four categories on Saturday starting at 1.30pm. The contest is also open to Korat cats — an old breed with distinctive silver-blue coat and yellow eyes believed to have originated in Nakhon Ratchasima — to vie for the Best of the Best Korat Cats award.

Set for Sunday, also at 1.30pm, will be the Fun Show contest, open to kittens aged four to seven months, cats aged eight months and up, premier cats six months and up, and household-pet cats six months and up.

Contestants for both competitions will have to collect points in each round to win cash prizes worth more than 19,000 baht, plus royal trophies from HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun and HM Queen Sirikit.

The expo includes a showcase of Korat cats and Bengal cats, and visitors will learn more about them from breeders and join quizzes fun games to win prizes.

At least four adorable celebrity cats — Able Maew, Meeboon the Cat, Johnny Maew Supalak and Hachi Maew Sao Russia — who have become stars on social media

over the years will be brought from Bangkok to meet their fans and sell their signature products such as cat perches and fried mackerel-shaped dolls at their own booths on both days.

There will also be DIY workshops on how to create toys for cats, sales of a variety of pet products at special prices and complimentary cat neutering services from 11am-3pm. The Home for Cats project will give away cats to interested persons who successfully pass an interview with the Homeless Cats Helpers Club.
