1Those looking for some new gadgets are in luck as the ‘Thailand Mobile Expo 2018’ will be taking place at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center from Feb 15-18. Due to rapidly changing technologi­es, this year’s Thailand Mobile Expo is a little different. With the theme of “Mobile Related Expo”, not only will there be great deals on mobile phones, there will also be a Camera Zone with all the latest DSLRs and an IoT (Internet of Things) zone selling technologi­cal knick knacks, and even an EV (Electric Vehicle) zone, showcasing the latest technology in hybrid cars.

2If you thought that Ikea Bang Na was big, you haven’t seen anything yet. Next month, Southeast Asia’s biggest Ikea store will open in Bang Yai taking up a whopping 50,278m², and offering over 8,000 items. Opening its doors on March 15, this is the first ever Ikea that you won’t get lost in. There will be direct entrances and exits, connected escalators and cashiers on every single floor of the store, perfect for quick and easy shopping. If you’re hungry, there are also two restaurant­s available, one being the first ever to sell Swedish-style healthy foods. On the occasion of the opening, Ikea is offering special deals for customers who apply for Ikea family membership­s from today until March 15. New members will receive a free Ikea zipper bag. 5A whole load of galleries will be having opening receptions, talks, performanc­es and screenings tonight as the fifth edition of Galleries’ Night 2018 will be opening throughout Bangkok. With 23 galleries being involved in the event, there will be 30 dedicated tuk-tuks travelling through specific routes to take art lovers to participat­ing venues. Interestin­g events include a special performanc­e by Sareena Sattapon at Thonglor Art Space, the opening of “Pearl Earring” by Dasha Matrosova at House of Lucie, and a live painting session at Numthong Gallery by Pairoj Pichetmeta­kul.
