Bangkok a cheap date for Valentine’s Day
Bangkok is one of the world’s cheapest cities in which to treat a partner to a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, according to a report by HR consulting firm ECA International.
A Valentine’s Day date in Bangkok costs an average of US$150 (4,720 baht), including two taxi journeys, two movie tickets, a dinner for two and two drinks at a bar.
The most expensive component, by far, is dinner, at about 60% of the budget.
The priciest dates can be had in Geneva, Switzerland, where the average romantic outing will set couples back $295, more than five times the cost in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Hong Kong, home to the world’s most expensive real estate market, is also the most expensive Asian city for romance, with a date costing $195. Singapore follows closely behind at $190.
A date in Mumbai, on the other hand, costs as little as $103.
