Call for innovative designs with a ‘ Thai’ identity
Thai T designers with brilliant ideas are invited to apply a for the DEmark Award 2018 to vie for many benefits b from the Ministry of Commerce’s Department m of International Trade Promotion (DITP).
The 11th edition of the competition is open to b both corporate and independent designers, required to o come up with no more than five Thai products w with excellent designs under the concept of “Look B Back Think Beyond”.
It is aimed to encourage designers to look back a at the root of the original concept and the methods p practiced in each branch of design, and integrate th hem with modern design concepts. The purpose is s to create novel ideas and add Thai identity to the p products marketed globally.
The competition is divided into six categories: F Furniture (industrial process/industrial craft), Lifest tyle (gift, decorative items or household products), C Creative and Innovative Fashion, Industrial (home a appliances, equipment and office facilities), Packagin ng and Graphic Design (font or graphic on surface, d digital media and identity design).
Winners of DEmark Awards are eligible to particip pate in the Good Design Awards Contest (G-mark) in n Japan, a prestigious award in the international d design industry.
During the past 10 years, the DITP has awarded D DEmarks to more than 680 designers covering a wide ra ange of products and business. Up to 410 of them h have won the G-mark awards.
Winners will receive the privilege to use the D DEmark logo or the co-operation logo between D DEmark and G-mark to promote their products free of charge, a 50% discount on participating fees in overseas trade shows that the DITP participates in, and a promotion of their products through advertising in various media. Winners can also display their products at local and international exhibitions such as the Good Design Exhibition 2018 (G-mark) in Japan and other major cities.
