Rotary Club to host wide-ranging concert

-

The Rotary Club of Bangkok, the first in Thailand, is gearing up for its annual fundraising concert to be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Erawan, Ratchadamri Road, on April 26 at 6.30pm.

Titled “From Gershwin To Queen”, the concert will feature a wide range of musical performances by the Bangkok Charity Orchestra (BCO) under the leadership of conductor Chulayuth Lochotinan.

The orchestra will be accompanied by Athalie de Koning, an international singer and voice-over artist with a passion for jazz who regularly serves the Thai Royal Family by singing and narrating documentaries commissioned by the Palace.

She will perform with Frank Herrgott, a composer with Sony/BMG who came to Thailand in 2005 and performed since then with some of the best musicians and Grammy winners in the region. Frank has also taught jazz and improvisation to a new generation at French conservatories and at Rangsit University. The De Lanerolle Brothers will perform as supporting acts. Hailing from Sri Lanka, they will debut in Bangkok with their vast repertoire.

The evening will also feature a raffle auction, giving guests a chance to win great prizes and donate money to a worthy cause.

Tickets cost 2,500 baht, including a sumptuous buffet with free flow of wine and a delicious variation of desserts after the performance. All proceeds will benefit the club’s service projects improve communities.
