Thai musicians join Indian vocalists in friendship
Young vocalists from India and musicians from Thailand will join hands for the Global Peace and Harmony Concert, at Siam Ratchada Auditorium, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Saturday at 7pm and again at the Second Church Samyan, Rama IV, on Sunday at 5pm.
Presented by the William Joseph International Academy for the Performing Arts in Bangalore, India, the concert will bring a chorus of 15 young vocalists from India to perform with the Thailand Sanctuary Chamber Orchestra, comprised of musicians from evangelical churches in Bangkok.
They will be accompanied by 20 members of the Thailand Sanctuary Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Dr Ashley Williams, founder and director of the aforementioned academy, as well as the Indian National Symphony Orchestra.
The first show’s repertoire includes selections from Love In Spring, Like A Flower, Let There Be Peace On Earth, L’important C’est La Rose, Love Is The Answer, I’ll Walk With God, Sunrise Sunset, I Dream A Dream, Prayer, Over The Rainbow, Pie Jesu, Moon River, Climb Every Mountain, All The Things You Are, Memory, Where Is Love, Ombra Mai Fu and Nella Fantasia.
The programme on the second show will feature gospel songs, hymns, African-American spirituals and musicals, as well as Christian music.
Tickets for the Saturday show cost 600 baht (300 baht for students) and can be purchased at the door. There is no admission fee to the Sunday show.
