Ready Player One

Steven Spielberg’s new film takes place in two worlds: the 2045 dystopia of slumdwelli­ng people with hardly any hope, and the heightened virtual reality of a video game called Oasis. Tye Sheridan plays a teenager determined to unlock the highest level of the game, created by a genius named Halliday (Mark Rylance). To achieve that, he has to battle an army of virtual warriors sent by an evil company bent on taking control of people’s lives. Directed by Steven Spielberg.

Peter Rabbit

A film adaptation of the beloved Peter Rabbit books by Beatrix Potter. The film deals with how the now-orphaned Peter (James Corden) recruits his sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail (Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki and Daisy Ridley), along with their cousin Benjamin (Colin Moody), to assist in staging a major veggie heist on the property of old McGregor (Sam Neill). Eric Clapton: Life In 12 Bars

The tumultuous life of guitar legend Eric Clapton is retold in this documentar­y, largely through vintage footage. The film chronicles Clapton’s orphaned childhood; the traumatic rejection of his mother; and his spectacula­r rise in the music scene as a white boy who plays the blues with John Mayall, The Yardbirds and Cream. It also details his past substance abuse and his fabled obsession with Patti Boyd, at the time the wife of his friend George Harrison. Directed by Lili Fini Zanuck.

Pacific Rim: Uprising

In this sequel to Pacific Rim (conceived by Guillermo del Toro), a new generation of pilots known as Jaeger band together to fight another invasion of kaiju, or alien monsters who slip through a dimensiona­l crack to Earth. The film stars John Boyega — Finn from Star Wars — and Scott Eastwood. Directed by Steven DeKnight.
