40,000 MLM delegates expected

-

More than 40,000 distributors from overseas-based multi-level marketing (MLM) companies will convene in Thailand, where growth of the direct sales industry has risen in recent years.

Growth in the sector is expected to generate 22 billion baht in revenue in fiscal 2018, which ends in September, according to the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).

Incentives is one of the four pillars of the Mice industry, along with meetings, conferences and exhibitions.

Scott Lewis, chief visionary officer of Jeunesse Global, an international multi-level marketing company, said the company will organise the Jeunesse Expo World Tour 2018 in Thailand, running Sept 20-23.

“This event is the annual celebration for Jeunesse Corporate [and its distributors] to revel in the spirit of our joint accomplishments,” he said.

With more than 12,000 attendees from Asia-Pacific and India, the event will provide distributors updates on 2019 marketing trends, key business-building tactics and information about new products.

“Jeunesse Global is rapidly growing in Asia-Pacific,” Mr Lewis said. “We are experiencing tremendous growth, which has almost increased 100% in every market. As Thailand recorded the highest growth in the region, it is the first country where we have launched our intensive marketing campaigns.”

Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, president of the TCEB, said having top distributors convene to develop business strategies in Thailand will benefit Thai members and the country’s direct selling industry, as well as its Mice business.

In fiscal 2017, Thailand welcomed 1.28 million Mice travellers, generating 104.64 billion baht in revenue. Of these travellers, 259,901 participated in conventions in Thailand, generating revenue of 24 billion baht.

An additional 271,793 were incentive travellers who contributed 16 billion baht in revenue. Thailand’s top five incentive markets are China, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, in that order. The agency predicts Thailand will welcome 285,000 incentive travellers, generating 23 billion baht by the end of fiscal 2018.

This year, there are several MLM events taking place in Thailand, with 40,000 delegates expected to attend.

They include Herbalife North Asia Extravaganza 2018 with 10,000 attendees, running June 7-10; the Infinitus seminar with 10,000 attendees, running June 6-16 in Bangkok and Pattaya; and the Yofoto seminar with 4,000 attendees, running June 4-10 in Bangkok and Pattaya.
