K-POP GIRL GONE SOLO
The goddess of Korean entertainment, Yoona of the hot K-pop group Girls’ Generation, will officially meet her Thai fans for the first time next month. “Yoona Fanmeeting Tour, So Wonderful Day # Story_1 in Bangkok” will take place at the Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani, on July 7 at 6pm.
Reputed for her pure beauty and well-rounded talent, the 27-year-old singer and actress debuted as a member of Girls’ Generation in 2007, when her acting career also began. Besides having sat at the centre of the octet for a decade so far, Yoona turned to express her musical feeling and charming voice through her own first solo single, Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway, released in collaboration with indie group 10cm in 2016.
She then displayed her harmonisation between her sweet voice and guitar sound in her second solo single, When The Wind Blows, for which she participated in writing the lyrics. The acoustic ballad was released last year. Recently, she composed the lyrics for her latest solo single, To You, released just last month.
Yoona won many awards as an actress. She played the lead in the TV soaps — You Are My Destiny, Cinderella Man, Love Rain, Prime Minister And I, The K2 and The King In Love. She is also very popular in China after her debut in the Chinese mega-drama God of War, Zhao Yun, in 2016.
