OLD AND RARE BOOKS
(Siam Society, Asok Road, 10am-5pm (except Sunday and Monday), until July 26) The “Exhibition Of Rare Books” features a selection of more than 60 old and rare books in English, French, German and Dutch from Prince Prisdang and Mom Luang Manich Jumsai’s collection. They include books on Siam published between 1900 and 1950 as well as exciting and classic titles like The Land Of The White Elephant, Mission Pavie Indo-Chine and A Half Century Among The Siamese And The Laos.

CARE ABOUT PHOTOBOOKS
(Open House Bookshop by Hardcover, Central Embassy,
Phloenchit Road, 11am-9pm, until July 31) Held in collaboration with Japan Foundation and Reminders Photography Stronghold, the “Photobook As Object/Photobook Who Cares” exhibition displays pictures of the photobooks and actual photobooks — award-winning or nominated — by 35 international artists. Some of them will give a special talk at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathumwan intersection today at 11am before coming back to show the process of their photobook making in a demonstration today and tomorrow from 2pm-8pm. The exhibition is part of the “PhotoBangkok 2018”, which includes a wide range of photographic events in Bangkok until Sept 9. There is no admission fee. Visit photobangkokfestival.com.

It features the queen’s countless honourable missions and works for the well-being of the Thai people and ethnic minorities, betterment of the quality of life, environment conservation, and art and cultural revival.
