From the sky above to the earth below
The highly-anticipated Royal Project fair will return to please health-conscious shoppers with a wide range of high-quality products at CentralWorld, Ratchadamri Road, from this Friday to Aug 13.
Titled “The Royal Project 49 — Kindness: From The Sky Above To The Earth Below”, the 11-day fair will have special prices on 3,000 items including raw ingredients, fresh produce, beverages and processed products from the Royal Projects.
Among this year’s highlighted items will be highly nutritious, healthy food, such as home-grown quinoa, Assam green tea that won a silver medal from the World Tea Union in Japan, Highland Yellow Wild Rice grown by the Pakakayo ethnic group, seven kinds of edible flowers, black-boned chicken whose breed is native to Mongolia, feta cheese made from the milk of Mehsana buffaloes, and fresh herbal tea that is good for the digestive system.
Doi Kham will introduce new products including soy milk with coconut jelly, tomato ketchup and sugar-free herbal drinks.
Also available will be a selection of craft works and products from 13 related foundations including the Friends in Need (or Pa) Volunteers Foundation, the Support Foundation for the Promotion of the Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques, Chitralada Shop, Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre, Phufa Shop and Sai Jai Thai Foundation.
Activities include a cooking demonstration by well-known chefs daily at 1pm and 4pm (except opening day), stage performances and live music by students from Kasetsart University. A number of food and dessert recipes will be exclusively served at the fair. Dishes include portobello mushrooms and quinoa spicy salad, Bue Bo fried rice with green tea, avocado ice cream, five-colour fruit ice cream and kidney beans in gingery syrup with quinoa.
Another highlight will be a two-part exhibition titled “49 Years Of The Royal Projects — Continue, Maintain And Develop For Sustainability”, which will be held at the Central Court.
The first part showcases rarely-seen royal photos of HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, HM Queen Sirikit and the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej; and their words about the Royal Projects. The second part presents the progress of the Royal Projects in three aspects — economy, society and environment. All areas of the fair will also be beautifully decorated with Yellow Star flowers.
