Continent (02-686-7000) August: Bangkok Heightz modern Thai restaurant presents a new series of tasting dishes at 1,176 baht net per person, or 823 baht net per person for vegetarian. The set consists of an assortment of appetisers; a soup course of tom

yum goong or tom kha gai soup; main entrée of beef massaman, sea bass fillet with sweet chilli sauce, green curry with your choice of meat or softshell crab with black pepper sauce; steamed jasmine rice; mango sticky rice or coconut icecream dessert; and a free-flow of Thai herbal drinks, fruit juice or flower juice. Dusit Thani (02-200-9000) August-September: The Pavilion recommends fried egg noodle with river prawns and black pepper; Mayflower Chinese restaurant highlights stir-fried lotus root; Thien Duong Vietnamese restaurant offers fried rice with red curry paste and fermented ground pork sausage; while Hamilton’s steakhouse presents the President salad with panfried scallop, duck liver and smoked duck. Eastin Grand Sathorn Bangkok (02-210-8100) August: “World Street Food Spectacula­r” is a seasonal theme at the Glass House’s grand weekend buffet. Expect to find the likes of chicken shawarma wraps with pita bread; Mexican tacos with beef or chicken; Malaysian chicken satay; steamed Chinese chive dumplings; and Thai grilled pork on skewers, along side a wide variety of internatio­nal buffet classics. Okura Prestige Bangkok (02-687-9000) August: Michelin-starred Elements restaurant presents a selection of new dishes highlighti­ng Japanese seasonal ingredient­s, including taraba crab open sandwich with konbu wafer, avocado and pickled vegetables; hirame flounder with freshly grated yuzu, celeriac, red sorrel and toasted matcha jus; and Satsuma beef and garlic cromesquis served with daikon-filled bone marrow and olive liquorice. Specials available for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. Prices start from 690 baht.

August: Scarlett restaurant presents new dishes prepared with edible flowers. Dishes include slow-cooked chicken breast with organic honey and lavender; lamb fillet with olive tapenade and courgettes; Alaskan king crab salad with confit melon and rocket sauce; cucumber and mint ravioli with sweet and sour lobster coulis de Cavaillon; burrata cheese panna cotta with a bouquet of seasonal garden vegetables; matcha tea chocolate; and velouté crécy with jasmine flower emulsion.

Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam (02-688-1000) August: Terrace @72 restaurant features a series of interactiv­e internatio­nal buffets. Lunch is priced at 790 baht per person, while dinner costs 1,400 baht per person inclusive of free flow soft drinks.

Royal Orchid Sheraton (02-266-9214)

August: Japanese kurobuta pork is the hotel’s highlighte­d seasonal ingredient. Riverside Grill offers pork belly with poached peach and grain mustard sauce; honey-glazed pork ribs with salsa and signature barbecue sauce; and pork chop on grilled portobello mushroom. Giorgio’s Italian restaurant features kurobuta Milanese with rocket salad, blue cheese and Kalamata olives; braised pork ribs with thyme gnocchi, baby carrot and asparagus tips; and pork escalope with pancetta bacon accompanie­d by pan-fried foie gras, creamed spinach, truffle and grain mustard sauce. Thara Thong Thai restaurant serves spicy grilled pork neck salad with steamed vermicelli; braised pork belly and egg with kale and steamed rice; and grilled pork in green curry with longan and roti bread.

Until Aug 4: Next2 Cafe internatio­nal buffet restaurant presents a Singaporea­n food festival by guest chef Andy Yew. Enjoy Singapore’s classic dishes from live buffet stations including laksa noodles, rojak, bak kut teh pork ribs soup, prawn sambal, traditiona­l nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice, ikan panggang and the traditiona­l Singaporea­n dessert bo bo cha cha. August: Michelin-starred Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin introduces a summer set dubbed “Mini-Summer Journey” for lunch. The four-course meal, priced at 1,850 baht per person, includes roasted foie gras with mushroom ravioli, five spices pork ravioli and mushroom bouillon; Maine lobster salad and frozen red curry, slow-cooked beef rib with homemade oyster sauce; and mango with sticky rice as well as pre-dinner amuse bouche and petite fours.

Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit (02-126-9999) August-September: Voila revamps its internatio­nal Sunday brunch buffet, now featuring a sensationa­l selection of imported seafood. The family-friendly buffet is priced at 2,400 baht net per person with optional drinks and Champagne packages available.

August: Jojo restaurant introduces a selection of new dishes, including mushroom and truffle soup; risotto with fresh herbs, Grana Padano cheese and aged Modena balsamic; and tortellini alla Norcina with ricotta and pecorino cheeses and Italian sausage.

Sukhothai Bangkok (02-344-8888)

Aug 6: For one night only, Celadon Thai restaurant invites Michelin-starred street food master Jay Fai to an exclusive culinary collaborat­ion, in which the chef will showcase her famous crab omelette in a seven-course dinner. Other dishes to be featured include wok-fried tiger prawn with yellow curry; wok-fried flat rice noodles with squid, prawn, chillies and hot basil leaves; and grilled prawn with sea-blite, homemade chilli paste and coconut dressing. Price is 3,900 baht per person.

Westin Grande Sukhumvit (02-207-8000) August: Uni (sea urchin roe), Pacific saury and Ayu sweet fish are highlighte­d seasonal ingredient­s at Kisso Japanese restaurant. Featured dishes include fresh uni in shell; uni roll with wagyu beef; uni tempura; pressed sushi with cured Pacific saury fish; simmered Pacific Saury with sweetened soy sauce; charcoal-grilled Japanese Ayu sweet fish with salt or Japanese pepper-miso paste. An ultimate kaiseki dinner in a private room is also on offer at 25,000 baht net per a group of up to 10 diners.
