LANGUAGE AWARDS:

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam and Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchan­arat presided over an event to mark National Thai Language Day, which recognised individual­s and organisati­ons promoting the Thai language, including Harald Link, chairman of B.Grimm, who received the ‘Excellent Thai Language User (Foreigner) Award’ at Thailand Cultural Centre. SOCIAL DONATION:

The Utokapat Foundation under His Majesty’s Royal Patronage represente­d by Sumet Tantivejku­l, the foundation’s chairman, received a donation of 2 million baht from Boonpakorn Chokvathan­a, chairman of Dr Thiam Chokwatana Foundation, at Bitec Bangna. COMMUNITY TOURISM:

Yuthasak Supasorn, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, together with representa­tives from Mittare Insurance, Royal Orchid Holidays, Nok Air, Readme.me and TraveliGo.com, launched the Aor Sor Social online community to help promote village tourism, at the ballroom, Eastin Hotel Makkasan Bangkok.
