Mission: Impossible — Fallout

Adrift

Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin star in this film based on a true story. Tami Oldham (Woodley) and Richard Sharp (Claflin) sail into one of the most catastroph­ic hurricanes in recorded history. When the storm passed, their boat is seriously damaged and Richard is badly injured. Adrift in the middle of the ocean, Tami must save herself and the man she loves. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur.

The Cured

Ellen Page stars in this film about the aftermath of a zombie epidemic. Set in Ireland, the story takes place after the zombie virus has been cured and the once-infected population have returned to society. But when discrimina­tion and paranoia follow, the militant government has to interfere. Directed by David Freyne.

When I Get Home, My Wife Always Pretends To Be Dead

The title explains it all. This domestic drama is based on an online forum posted by a husband who, upon returning from work, finds his wife faking her death in a series of bizarre spectacles. What follows is a story of a married couple who have long failed to communicat­e with each other. Directed by Lee Toshio.

Ansel Elgort and Kevin Spacey star in this thriller in which a group of wealthy boys in the early 1980s establish a “get-rich-quick” scam that turns deadly.

Isle Of Dogs

This stop-motion animation follows a plot where all dogs of Megasaki City are exiled to the remote Trash Island following an outbreak of canine flu. Atari, a 12-year-old boy, decides to visit the island in hopes of rescuing his beloved bodyguard dog, Spots. With help from some peculiar, quarantine­d dogs, he discovers the truth about Japan’s government scheme. This film stars the voices of Koyu Rankin, Liev Schreiber, Bill Murray, Greta Gerwig, Scarlett Johansson and Yoko Ono. Written and directed by Wes Anderson.

Burning

Based on Murakami’s Barn Burning, protagonis­t Jongsu runs into childhood friend Hae-mi, who reveals she had a crush on him at a young age. Hae-mi embarks on a long-awaited trip to Africa, and asks him to take care of her cat. Once she returns to Seoul with Ben, a Korean love interest, she introduces him to Jong-Su, who proceeds to find out more about this mysterious man, discoverin­g Ben’s strange hobby in the process.
