YOUNG, DUMB AND IN BANGKOK
Khalid, one of contemporary R&B’s brightest stars, will be in town to celebrate Halloween with his Bangkok debut concert at GMM Live House, 8th floor of CentralWorld, on Oct 31. His arrival is still a long way away, but his fans should make sure to get tickets, which will go on sale this Saturday.
Hailed as the hottest young R&B artist on the planet, the 20-year-old Khalid wrote and created music while in high school and posted his early works to SoundCloud. He reached No.2 on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists charts when he was only 18 with his debut single, Location, peaking at number 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It also has more than 500 million streaming hits and over 290 million views on YouTube.
The Georgia-born singer wrote and produced every song on his first studio album, American
Teen, which was released last year and received critical acclaim and Grammy Award nominations for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best R&B Song (for Location). The album includes the hit Young Dumb & Broke, which topped the Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart.
Despite being relatively new to the American music scene, Khalid has already received a number of awards including Top New Artist at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards and the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, as well as Best New R&B Artist at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards. He also has five Grammy nominations under his belt.
His American Teen Tour will make stops in Seoul and Tokyo before heading to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta and Hong Kong.
Tickets for the “Singha Music Presents Khalid American Teen Tour 2018 Bangkok” cost 1,800 and 2,800 baht and will be available for public sale on Saturday at all Thai Ticket Major outlets and on thaiticketmajor.com (call 02-2623838). Tickets at the door cost 2,000 and 3,000 baht respectively.
