City’s water closet triumph

Since the annual toilet of the year contest began in 2009, 87 has won in Bangkok, 16 of which later won the national round organised by the Public Health Ministry’s Department of Health.That is the highest number of all when compared to the number of awards won by other provinces.

In 2011, winners from Bangkok that won in the national contest were Wat Makut Kasattriyaram temple in Phra Nakhon district, CentralWorld department store in Pathumwan district and King Rama IX Park in Prawet district.

In 2012, Viboon Business Administration College Ram-indra in Bang Khen district, Terminal 21 shopping mall in Watthana district, and Taksin Hospital in Khlong San district won nationally.

In 2013, only one winner from Bangkok won in the national round of the competition, and that was The Promenade shopping centre in Kannayao district.

In 2014, Assumption College Primary Section in Sathon district, Debsirin School in Pomprap Sattruphai district, and Taling Chan railway station in Taling Chan district won in the national contest.

In 2015, Safari World Plc, an operator of a zoo and marine park in Klong Sam Wa district, and Klong Toey district office triumphed nationally.

In 2016, the Department of Social Development and Welfare in Pom Prap Sattru Phai district, Wat Chakrawat School in Samphanthawong district, Wachirabenchathat Park in Chatuchak district, and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration General Hospital in Pom Prap Sattru Phai district received the top honours.

Last year, Wachirabenchathat Park (Suan Rot Fai park), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration General Hospital and Wat Chakrawat School won again in the national round of the contest.
