NACC probes road rage attack
CITY: The National Anti-Corruption Commission has launched an inquiry into the actions of an NACC assistant secretary-general seen in an internet video clip aiming a pistol at another driver at the Government Complex in Laksi district, Bangkok, last week.
The dashboard camera of the threatened driver’s taxi recorded video of the Oct 10 confrontation. The man with the pistol, driver of a black Honda Accord, has been identified as Piset Nakapan, a 52-year-old assistant to NACC secretary-general Worawit Sukbun.
Mr Worawit said yesterday the incident was a “personal action and has nothing to do with exercising authority while on duty”. A panel led by NACC deputy secretary-general Natcha Koetsi will look into the matter over the next 15 days.
