Hello Puppy: Princess launches photo exhibition

- POST REPORTERS

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over a royal photo exhibition yesterday showcasing some of her pictures under the theme “Hello Puppy Greetings Piggy”.

Prior to the opening of the exhibition at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC) in Pathumwan, the Princess also offered a brief presentation of some of her photos with intriguing details to guests and media.

Several of the snaps were taken while she was conducting royal duties in Thailand and overseas. Others were apparently taken at her leisure.

The Princess said she often took photos of her home but that these were different as they cast things in a new light, citing the example of some pictures of offerings made to a shrine at Sra Pathum Palace.

The Princess said she had stayed at the palace for many years when she had an auspicious dream three or four years ago featuring an elderly couple who promised to look after her, and her home in her absence.

She shared her dream with palace staff and was subsequently informed the palace had been looked after previously by an elderly couple.

Since then, she said, she asked the workers to make daily offerings to them.

The Princess also discussed a photo of one of the family’s pet dogs, Nong Mee Khao (White Bear), taken at Chitralada Palace.

She said the dog belonged to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, and described it as a friendly animal.

She reminisced about enjoying its company whenever she was with the Queen.

The Princess then showed some photos of Akhtala Monastery and of wedding rings she took during a trip to Armenia, as well as giving background information.

After the presentation, she presided over the opening of the exhibition on the 9th floor of the BAAC.

A total of 156 photographs taken by the Princess will be on display from today until March 10.

The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 9pm except Mondays.
