An entire weekend of coffee, tea and ice-cream treats
Thailand Coffee, Tea & Drinks 2019 and Thailand Bakery & Ice Cream will kick off on Thursday and run until Sunday from 10am-7pm. This year’s venue has been changed to Bitec Hall 106, Bang Na-Trat Road.
Hailed as the country’s biggest coffee, bakery and ice-cream show, this is a once-a-year opportunity to source from worldwide equipment, accessories and ingredients for either commercial purposes or personal use, with special promotions from almost 2,000 exhibitors.
Vendors will bring a vast array of products i ncluding coffee machines, grinders, roasters, blenders, coffee beans, ovens, mixers, packaging, Thai and international tea, ice-cream-making machines and ingredients, refrigerators, freezers and bakery display cabinets.
Visitors are invited to taste and try different types of coffee beans, baked goods and ice cream. Professional baristas with championship degrees will be serving coffee in different styles, with and without coffee machines, including the increasingly popular coffee drip and siphon.
In its 13th year, the four-day show also will be packed with comprehensive activities. Among them are four national competitions looking for the best barista, filter coffee recipe, coffee taster and coffee roaster. The contests are organised by Kavin Intertrade in collaboration with the Thai Barista Association, with a panel of judges from the World Barista Council. Winners will represent Thailand in international competitions.
Last year, four of five competitors from Thailand managed to make it big overseas — winning first prize in the World Siphonist Championship, fourth prize from the World Cup Tasters Championship, 11th prize from the World Coffee Roasting Championship, and 12th prize from the World Barista Championship.
Other activities arranged by exhibitors include bakery workshops where participants can learn from pastry chefs, new menus, and tips and tricks on preparing their own bakery menus at home or in shops. A gelato-ice-cream workshop is another popular attraction among ice-cream lovers.
