After conducting a masterclass in May, celebrated ballet dancers Charles Jude and Stéphanie Roublot will be back in Bangkok next week for a performance that pays homage to Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana.

The late Princess encouraged music education and artistic development, with the legacy embodied in the Fund for Classical Music Promotion and Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music.

Partnering with the Ministry of Culture’s Department of Cultural Promotion, the Fund for Classical Music Promotion will host the classical music and ballet performance on Aug 13, from 8pm at Small Hall, Thailand Cultural Centre.

Groomed by Rudolf Nureyev, Jude made his mark and became a danseur étoile, the highest rank that a dancer can reach at the Paris Opera Ballet. The French-Vietnamese ballet master has passed on his knowledge by teaching at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris as well as the Académie de Danse de Monaco.

He also inspired young dancers at the Bordeaux National Opera, where he was the artistic director, who made the French town famous for wines notable for its ballet staged at the historic Grand Theatre.

Along with Jude, Roublot — a principal ballerina at the Bordeaux National Opera — will captivate the audience with her graceful moves in a repertoire that includes Adagio Du Ballet Spartacus, La Mort Du Cygne, Sonate Au Clair De Lune, and La Danse Russe Du Lac des Cygnes.

Also based in Bordeaux, renowned violinist Matthieu Arama and outstanding young pianist Aurélien Pontier will be providing enchanting music in the commemorative performance.
