90S FAVOURITES MAKE A COMEBACK

Mega artists of yesterday are finding 2019 a great year for a comeback with grand concerts in Bangkok. Travel back in time to when cassettes were all the rage with these artists served as the staple of the Thai music industry. The line-up looks to be a treat for 90s kids and millennial­s in the upcoming months.

Raptor Evolution 25 Years Mai Mee Kreng Jai

Sept 7, 2pm and 7pm — Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani

Raptor — singers Joni Anwar and Louis Scott — was the favourite preteen duo of the 90s. They released their first album in 1994 when they were just 11 years old. After four successful years together, they disbanded to go back to their study. Joni later embarked on a solo career while Louis turned to acting and has starred in numerous lakorns since. Their 25th anniversar­y concert, set at 7pm on Sept 7, was sold out in 20 minutes. A second round, to be held at 2pm on the same day, was quickly announced and still has tickets available.

Tata Young: My Perfection

Oct 11, 8pm and Oct 12, 6pm – Royal Paragon Hall Tata Young was the wonder girl when she broke into the industry. Her first album, released when she was 14, sold over a million copies within five months in 1995. Her successful career saw her rising as a diva who also had an English album that became a hit in Asia. “My Perfection” will see Tata serenading the crowd entirely with her English songs.

D2B Infinity Concert 2019

Nov 16 — Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani Hailed as the most popular and successful boybands in the country, D2B made their break in 2001 and enjoyed immense success for a few years. However, their time together was cut short when Panrawat “Big” Kittikornc­haroen got into an accident that

left him in a coma. Remaining members Worrawech “Dan” Danuwong and Kawee “Beam” Tanjararak conBeam tinued to make music as duo Dan for a while before pursuing their own career path. The two remain close and have collaborat­ed in different projects and concerts over the years. “Infinity” will be their first big concert together in four years.

Rhythm of Beau Sunita

Nov 23, 7pm and Nov 24, 5pm — Royal Paragon Hall

Sunita Leetikul is another one-millionpop­listeners copy-sold artist to join the ranks. Her rock music has captivated Thai since the release of her first album in 1996. She has had several chart toppers over the past two decades. Strangely, however, Sunita had only one solo concert, which came in 1997. After 22 years, she’ll now have her second with “Rhythm”.
