BACC PLANTS SEEDS FOR GOOD THEATRE

Bangkok Theatre Festival 2019 will be taking place at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and other venues starting next month. Under the theme “Theatre Farm”, the festival packs stage plays and performanc­es from diverse genres, taking on a variety of subjects such as romantic drama musicals to political black comedy. Tickets are now on sale.

Arabian Nights The Musical

Nov 8 at 8pm and Nov 9-10 at

2pm and 8pm (150 minutes) at Saeng Arun Art and Culture Center on Sathon 10

After a king sentenced his queen to death for having an affair, he keeps on marrying virgin girls only to execute them the next morning. A woman then offers herself as a bride to save the lives of other female villagers. Tickets are 690 baht for adults and 500 baht for students. Reserve tickets at 094-894-9009.

Si Quey Chapter 1

Nov 9-10 at 1pm and 2.30pm (50 minutes)

This play is inspired by the story of the famous alleged murderer. The imaginary tale invites audiences to explore the minds of the characters and also their own.

Sneak Preview: Broken Chords The Musical

Personal difference­s such as age, lifestyle and personalit­y bring a rift to three relationsh­ips. In the end, how many of them will be able to overcome the obstacles and push through? La Nuit Que J’ai Aime (In Thai: That Night I Love Joshua Wong)

Nov 14-17 and 20-24, 7.30pm (90 minutes) at Goose Life Space near BTS Sanam Pao

This black comedy by Qrious Theatre follows Coco, a middleaged conservati­ve transgende­r woman who dives into a mental crisis after discoverin­g her young family member looks like Joshua Wong, an activist she hates.
